Lagrein Rieder

INDIGENOUS SELECTION

Lagrein is one of the indigenous grape varieties of South Tyrol. The vine prefers
warm, sunny places as on the valley floor. It grows best on alluvial gravel soils.

The best areas for Lagrein can be found near Bolzano and Egna, where the
grapes for our Lagrein Rieder come from.

Name: One of our vineyards planted with Lagrein in Bolzano is called “Rieder”.

Etikett: It shows a part of the remarkable boarder wall of our vineyard in Egna.

            Manual harvest, fermentation in traditional concrete tanks,
            maceration of 8-12 days, maturation on the yeast for 6 months

            Strong starters, roasted meat, game, aged cheese

            Intense ruby red colour, notes of dark berries and violet, smooth tannins,
            full-bodied structure, well-balanced acidity
